P. Marshall Yoder P. Marshall Yoder JD
Profile

Marshall comes to collaborative law after many years of litigation experience in representing individuals, family businesses and large corporations. Marshall was drawn to the collaborative model after seeing the emotional and financial toll litigation took upon his clients, even those involved in purely business disputes. In keeping with the collaborative model, Marshall helps clients focus on their most important goals by an approach to problem-solving that first identifies their core needs and interests. He assists his clients in creating a vision for their future which allows them to create solutions that are driven by themselves and not by lawyers or courts. Marshall is committed to the collaborative approach which places control where it belongs in the hands of clients in a process that emphasizes the importance of families and children first.

Marshall also believes that collaboration permits people to move beyond divorce with less emotional distress and greater security for themselves and their children. It does this through a flexible process that emphasizes listening to the couple and allowing them to problem-solve with the help of attorneys, coaches and financial professionals as needed.

In addition to using collaboration to resolve family issues in a respectful manner, Marshall also believes in using the collaborative model for all kinds of other disputes in such diverse areas as estate and probate, partnership, shareholder, medical malpractice, employment and any other areas where protracted conflict can be financially and/or emotionally disruptive.

Marshall is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Conflict Transformation from Eastern Mennonite University where he is focusing on further training in dispute resolution models and practices and how to integrate those methods into the collaborative law process. Marshall also is an adjunct professor at EMU where he teaches corporate governance and leadership in its MBA program.
