Dillina W. StickleyDillina W. Stickley JD

Dillina Stickley is an experienced family law attorney. Through her many years of representing people in divorce, she saw how court litigation tears families apart. Historically, in courtroom battles, divorce evolved into the winner takes all mentality, a mentality that often ignored the real needs of her clients and their children. She felt that there had to be a better way. Collaborative divorce is a process that brings all of Dillina's skills as a lawyer together. Collaborative divorce gives Dillina tremendous satisfaction. Dillina says "I can still be a lawyer for someone, but in a positive way". Dillina is committed to the idea that divorce can happen in an environment that is less emotionally charged, less expensive, less time consuming, and that can achieve positive results for all involved . Collaborative divorce makes it possible for both parties to win while reducing the emotional and financial costs to the family. Collaborative divorce focuses on keeping families working together, not driving them apart, or making them adversarial.

Dillina believes that Collaborative law is a powerful and effective way for people who are in dispute to reach fair resolutions and resolve differences respectfully. Collaborative law is about achieving a fair and equitable settlement and accomplishing the thoughtful restructuring of relationships that often occurs from a dispute. The collaborative family law process is powerful because it allows couples to obtain the positive advantages of legal, financial and personal assistance in sorting out the complexities of their divorce while avoiding the battle fatigue of the adversarial litigation process.

In addition to an active collaborative practice, Dillina also maintains a diverse general civil practice focused on business, employment law, and personal injury. She is experienced in trial and appellate practice before state courts and the Virginia Supreme Court.
